A Kentucky Baptist pastor died in a car accident as he was returning home from church services on Sunday, Sept. 3.

Rick Julick, who was serving as interim pastor at Riverview Baptist Church in Berry, Ky., was killed in a two-vehicle accident at U.S. 27-N at Alexander Road in Butler, Ky., located in Pendleton County, according to Kentucky State Police. The call to KSP was received around 2 p.m. Sunday. No other details are available.

Julick had served as pastor, pulpit supply and interim pastor at several Crittenden Baptist Association churches.

Julick, 77, previously served as pastor at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Demossville for four years and at Mason Baptist Church in Mason, Ky., for five years. Survivors include his wife, Gail, three children, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Sept. 8 at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence, Ky., and the funeral Sept. 9 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Another accident on Sunday has left Steve Miller, pastor of Poplar Grove Baptist Church in Glencoe, in serious condition. He was involved in a car accident on his way home from church on Sunday. His daughter, Cortney Miller, said in a Facebook post Monday that he was in ICU after surgeries Sunday night. At that time he was on a ventilator.

“We still don’t know how much vision he has in his right eye, but we are just thankful that they did not have to take it out completely during the surgery and are hopeful that God will heal it completely. He still needs prayers. Mom, Dad and I are strong believers in the power of prayer. Know that you are doing the best thing for us you can ever do by praying and asking others to pray.”
