How gas prices have changed in Kentucky in the last week
Fuel prices continued to rise this week, hitting an average price of $3.68 per gallon for regular gasoline, according to AAA data. Gasoline prices have now hit a high for the year but are roughly the same price they were at this time in 2023.
The price of Brent crude oil spiked on Thursday when Israel attacked Iran in retaliation for Iran’s earlier drone and missile attack. Analysts fear that escalating violence in the region could increase the pressure on oil prices. Iran has downplayed the attack and said that it had no immediate plans to retaliate against Israel.
For those hoping to save on gasoline, there is some good news. Andrew Gross from AAA notes that demand could be hitting “a lull” as spring break is ending for many students and Memorial Day is still over a month out.
