Kentucky woman killed after dump truck crosses centerline into traffic hitting two vehicles

The Kentucky State Police is investigating after a woman died after a dump truck crossed over into traffic and struck her vehicle.

Officials responded to a collision on US Highway 42 in Gallatin County on Tuesday.

A preliminary investigation indicates that a 2020 Mack dump truck, operated by Stacey Rigdon of Batavia Ohio, was traveling east on US Highway 42 when it crossed the center line and struck a 2012 Honda Accord. The Honda Accord left the roadway and struck a tree.  The dump truck continued traveling and struck a 2022 Hyundai Venue.

The operator of the Hyundai Venue, identified as Sarah Bingham of Florence, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Gallatin County Coroner.  The next of kin has been notified.

Kentucky State Police was assisted on scene by Gallatin Sheriff’s Office, Gallatin County Coroner, Gallatin County Fire Department, and Gallatin County EMS.
