A Kentucky firefighter who died in the line of duty has been honored with a procession of fire trucks and fire vehicles.

Joseph “Joey” Wright died Sept. 24 after a heart attack, Jefferson County Fire spokesman Jordan Yuodis told news outlets.
Wright’s body was returned to Bullitt County on Wednesday in the procession.

Wright joined the Nichols fire department in Bullitt County in 2015. He took classes and training on his own, Yuodis said.
“He always strived to be better and to do better,” Yuodis said. “The Nichols Fire Protection District was better because of him.”

Funeral arrangements are still pending.
